This week we had a field trip out to Glen Alba Gardens, a relatively new wedding venue nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains in Ben Lomond. As a local gal, I knew exactly how to get there. Alba road is a beautiful winding road off Highway 9 and is also the street of the Quaker Center and the Old Historical Schoolhouse.
Cindy and her husband acquired this sunny, open air property and have turned it into a quaint, ideal venue for casual weddings a la natural style. Open meadows, fruit trees, full kitchen for caterer use.
This is a perfect venue for a nature lover who is at home with the occassional garden snake crossing your path. One actually did during our tour, I took an excited hop back. There is potential here, and you would definitely need the wedding planner's touch to turn it into a wedding-ready venue. They do offer a full menu, onsite catering and their package deals include tables/chairs/linens and are very reasonably priced.
Here is a link to their website where you can find more information, feel free to call me as well.

Wedding Want-Nots
Check out this hilarious goodie bag of wedding bloopers. Just classic! I count my blessings this has not happened at any of "my" weddings.

Gone with the Wind
I have heard of great romantic proposals as well as proposals gone wrong, but this New York couple was very lucky that their special moment, which was almost ruined, turned out to be a great story they'll share with their kids and grandkids. And they got it on tape.

Good Food and Friends

A wonderful Bridal Faire at the Los Gatos Lodge this past Sunday. Awesome staffing - go Latinas - Thank you Nicole for a job well done.
We had many beautiful brides perusing, lots of chatting and exchanges, and relaxing sounds by Mark Russo of the Classy Cats. We teamed up with our comrade Bella Bridesmaid to showcase our services and talents.
The appetizers were tasty, the venue is very nice and affordable, gets a thumbs up.
